The rate will be so close as to be of no relacence, unless you're planning on buying a villa.

As Trinet says, the difference between the major players is usually tenths of a euro, so you might only save yourself a few euros.

Whatever you do though, don't turn up at the airport kiosks as the rate will be shockingly low.

Having said that, if you pre-buy your € online, those kiosks are there or there about with their rates. We usually do this with our travel money.

Came back last week and most places were offering 1.22, the same as we got changing it over here. Some were offering 1.24 for large amounts of £500 or £1,000 but really the rate was no better over there.

4. Re: exchange rate

if anyone in your group/party banks with Santander

you can use their ATM machine and you can use your Santander debit card to withdraw money from your UK account

this works a treat, also you get the bank rate, and you don't get charged

back in July the rate in Palma Nova was 1.22, I was getting 1.25 & 1.26 via the Santander ATM

***

this only works in Santander ATM's in Spain
