For excursions I can recommend No Frills Excursions, who have offices in Port d'Alcudia. Lots of info on their website.

For walking, will you have a car or are you looking for walks direct from your base? And what length of walks do you like to do? The Sunflower Guide (Landscapes of Mallorca) is a good handbook for walkers - most of its walks are in the more mountainous area to the north but there are a few in the Alcudia peninsula.

Yes, as above says, No-Frills is an excellent company for trips. You don't say where (what hotel) in Alcudia you're staying but if you've been before then you might know the Hotel Condes de Alcudia, the No-Frills shop is up the road past it's entrance, you'll see a bar called Sgt Peppers, the shop is further up on the same side, past the Brunel Inn.

This book and matching map will be good for you. My parents did some of these walks when staying in Porto Pollensa earlier in the year, and we did some around the Soller area. There are some that cover the north coast and Alcudia area.

for walking, there's plenty.

There's the RSPB reserve which is to the west seemallorca.com/sights/reserves/s-albufera-n…

There's some nice walks across the mountains from Pollensa into Cala Sant Vincenc

There's plenty of mountain walks and paths going across the mountains of the Alcudia Peninsula, starting the sort of Bon Aire area and ending either on the coast or up at La Victoria. Also a lot of walking can be started at the top of La Victoria and around the mountains.

As indicated above though, it would be far more helpful if you had a car as even those these walks mentioned are fairly local, few start from Alcudia itself.

There is an introduction to places to see in and around Alcudia at alcudiamallorca.com/data/alcudia_excursions.… . The second half of this contains brief info and maps on walks. You should be able to pick up more details once there.

Thanks everyone for the helpful tips. I will be staying at Grupotel Maritimo and hope to use local buses to get me to places where walks start. I'll definitely book a few No Frills trips though.

Have a walk past the old power station, to Alcanada. (Go up the hill to the just past the power station, then look out for the alley ways down to the sea, you can then walk all the way up past the golf course. Bare in mind that sensible shoes are required if venturing further than the golf course. We found our own small private pebble beach with awesome snorkelling just passed the Golf Coarse.
