Want a hotel in Fuerteventura mainly for couples

We are thinkging of The Rui palaces in Corralejo or Jandia dont know which resort would be better for us

In fifties and would rather not have kids clubs etc these both look lovely. Every one keep saying the Rui Palace Tres Isles is in mid of nowhere but is it difficult to get into Corralejo in evening. We love the beach and walking during day and bars with some entertainment in evening. What is Jandia resort like?

yes the rui is set on a beach in middle of no where but a taxi will take 5mins make to get into the main strip of corralejo, and plus the rui and most hotels on the island ur find kids at them, you could always walk to corralejo from the rui hotel all the way along the beach,

as for jandia ur find mostly germans there but ive heard its very nice down there, but im not keen on the idea of all the germans

The rui in Corralejo is on a lovely clean long beach, so you would get a good long walk on it, its probably too far out of town to walk to, but a taxi in and out would take approx 5 mins. Was gonna suggest hiring a bike, but you dont want to be cycling home at night under the influence!!!

The area around Jandia is nice, but very built up and would have to agree with the other post, the area has alot of german tourists, you tend not to find as many English and Irish there.

Why dont you try the Bahia Real in Corralejo also, its expensive, but seems nice.

We got back from the RIU a couple of weeks ago the other comments r right mainly full of Germans very few English. The entertainment we thought was very basic and if u needed to smoke you had to sit outside and watch turn through window on terrace and it was freezing with the wind off the beach. After 2 nights we went into Corralejo every night after that which cost 6 Euros each way. So i would advise you to find a hotel closer to Corralejo. Plenty of nice places to eat and drink in town try the Steak Bar it was excellant. Good Luck

Hi I booker the Bluebay Palace Corralejo It gets the top review on trip advisor and is right in the town near all the bars and resturants. Have a look at the reveiws but it does look great. I was going to book the Rui Palace but the location put me off.

Just returned Yesterday from the Rui Palace Tres Islas and have also stayed at Jandia but at the Princess Hotel.Riu Palace is far superior and that is reflected in the prices. Also Correlejo is the better of the 2 Resorts and more English around.Hotel only had about 10 percent English guests. No Kids while I was there and as you would say A rather well to do set...

Not relly place to go if you njoy walking, more of a relaxing holiday although you can walk for about 6kms along the beach if you want.About 6 euros to go into Correlejo at night but dont expect any sophisticated bars or entertainment.

As regards the hotel It is one of the best I have stayed at in in 30yrs of travelling,Excellent food and polite and friendly staff. Not a place you would be afraid to dress for dinner and by the way the meals were first class.

I spoke to a few guests who recommend the Riu palace Meloneras in Grnan Canaris as there were a few bars etc to visit in the evening nearby. The drinks etc worked out very expensive with the euro rate as it is and also the only thing on the minus side is there is nowhere for lunch or a coffee nearby.

While I wouldnt hesitate in recommending the hotel, myself Fuerteventura is not up to much.I prefer Lanzarote.A good hotel that I have been to there is The Natura Palace in Playa Blanca.

Personally for the next time I might try Gran Canaria.Hope this is useful info.Best of luck

Hi there,

All the Canary Islands are completely different in character and feel, and Fuerteventura appeals to people looking for a less commercialised island, with plenty of space for personal peace.

This page will give you general information about all the resort areas in Fuerteventura http://www.leisurezone.es/which-resort.html

The Riu Hotels are too far out to walk into Corralejo and some people can feel isolated. If you want entertainment in the evening, perhaps you should think about the BlueBay Palace, Atlantis Suites or Atlantis Bahia Real.

If you checkout the TUI site there are videos of both hotels The Riu Palace has a better location for walking however the guests will be predominantly German.

We love Jandia and return on a regular basis, it's not all Germans, it's a mix same as everywhere, there are lots of good hotels as well! and I think they are a tad cheaper than Corralejo. We stayed at the Jandia Mar and it was a mix of Dutch, Swedish lots of English and very few Germans!

The big tour operators are sending more people of all nationalities to the south starting from this year, so hopefully Jandia will become more cosmopolitan.

Corralejo, a few years ago was predominantly German!
