Supermarket shopping

Hi All

We have just booked to stay in a villa in Oct (we have been to Corralejo 4 times but normally stay AI) and was wondering where is cheapest for food shopping? When we have been previously we normally call into the Hiper Dino but it seems VERY expensive! This time we have opted for a villa as we have a baby in tow (as well as 2 other young children) so will be doing most of our eating at the villa. We plan to do a large food shop when we get there but not sure where we should be shopping - is the Hiperdino our only option? Also, another query, is it easy enough to get a taxi at the airport on arrival and how much should we expect to pay?

Many thanks

the hiper dino is probly the cheapest place to do your shoping with nettos being most expensive, ive also heard spar is pretty cheap aswell, im not sure but ive heard people saying there is a bigger spar supermarket in the islands capital main shoping centre, if you know where this is? you could always check this out on your way to corralejo from airport?

When we were there last week, we found a supermarket down near the harbour area of Correlejo. Was cheaper on quite a few things like juices, yoghurts etc... plus the fresh fruit looked alot fresher!

Not sure what it was called tho!

Hi

I was in Corralejo a few months ago and the Netto's supermarkets have all been taken over by Hiperdino. This chain is probably amongst the cheapest on the island. There is a new large Hiperdino supermarket at the El Campinaro Shopping Centre and we found this to be excellent.

Taxi's can be found right outside the airport exit and there is a queuing system. There could be a short wait during peak holiday periods. Expect to pay approx 45 euros each way to Corralejo, in which case, hiring a car is always worth considering. On route to Corralejo there is a new Lidl store near Rosario and we found it ideal to pick up a car and then do a large shop there.

Have fun

In reply to your taxi from the airport i've just returned home an we paid £67 with travel republic, there were only me an my partner an were given lifts to an from our hotel in a mini bus both ways! So plenty of room. You do have to confirm your taxi time from the hotel to the airport 24 hrs before departure but its very simple.
