Corralejo is not that big, and a taxi from the outskirts to the centre is at most 5 EUR. It also depends on how much you want to pay, there is a good range of accommodation from cheap (Dunas Caletas) to expensive (Atlantis Suites) for AI, hotels (Barcelo - central, Bahia Real - luxe but edge of town). There is a boutique hotel in the centre of town (Avanti), with all range in between. What are your preferences and price range?

The Dunas Caleta Club is in a good location. You can do self catering or All Inclusive here and is featured in the Airtours brochure.

Dunas Club by the harbour is in a good location for the bars and restaurants in the old town. Also handy for catching a bus to the beaches at the dunes.

I'd say that the triangle formed by the main strip - Nuestra Señora del Carmen - running north-south and Avenida de Fuerteventura (east to west) as far as the big roundabout by the El Campenario shopping centre should be considered as the most central part. But everywhere to the north and east of the main road (the extension of the coast road), and either side of the strip, is fine. And even to the south of that is not too far away. Remember that going northwards is always downhill, and as has been said, a taxi home will cost just a very few euros. The walk into town simply serves to increase your appetite and thirst, and the latter can be dealt with in one of the many bars you'll be walking past.

There are literally about a hundred places to eat and drink here, and the emphasis is on affordable prices with OK quality - the "cheap 'n' cheerful" category - with some higher-priced places. Although AI is sometimes a very appealing option price-wise, many people on AI eat out most nights as the food and service at the hotel is often less than mediocre. When 30€ will cover the daily food needs of a cost-conscious couple, with just drinks to add (and a pint of beer from 1€ up), you may find self-catering or B&B is cost effective and certainly more enjoyable.

Hey

There is also the Corralejo Beach Hotel. Right on the waterfront with beach/harbourside restaurants v.close by n a small sandy beach 1 min walk to the right. Also backs on more or.less to the main strip so v central.

I seriously considered it b4 opting for Mar Adentro

Hi take a look at Erika apartments, Caleta Playa and Fuentepark. First 2 are beachfront and last one is 250 yards stroll to beach. All very central for bars and restaurants.

Bear in mind that the Corralejo Beach Hotel really IS central so there will be a lot of noise until 2-ish, depending on where your room is. The suggestions in 5 are all well located, IMO, as is Brisamar. Look at a map of the place and you'll see that nowhere is far from the sea, though it isn't sandy all around the coast.

We stayed in Corralejo recently and went for an early morning walk every morning and used this time to identify a good location to stay for our next visit. We stayed at the Playa Park Club, which was very good, but we would want to be closer to the strip and/or harbour area next time.

We decided on Fuentepark apartments, subject to the price being reasonable, which looked nice, gets good reviews, and is just off the main strip.
