From tryp to cayo guillermo

Hi,

Anyone know the time it takes to get from The Tryp to Cayo Guillermo? Apparently there is a bus that goes there. Alternatively how much would a taxi be? Does anyone recommend this for a day out / alternative beach to laze on?

Thanks!

Hi,

Regular bus pick up's at all hotels, it takes about 30 min's, thats where you head to for all the sea trips. Beaches are great, as for your earlier posting, why not hire a bicycle to visit other hotels, the roads are dead and very flat.

Cheers.

Tom.

Hi If you are going from TRYP to Cayo Guillermo you might want to take the little caboose type train to Pilar Beach which is about 15 -20 minutes further. This is a local beach and there is some good snorkelling off to the left of the beach area. It cost 5 cuban convert. each person return from cayo guillermo, it starts leaving the cayo guillermo hotels around 8:30 a.m. and returns you to cayo guillermo around 1:00p.m. I believe it does the same trip between 12 and 12:30 to take the second load down to Pilar. You can go out from Pilar to an Island for snorkeling for around 11 ccp by speed boat. This beach area is also beautiful and you pay 1 ccp for each lounge chair. Bring some drinks with you. I had heard last year that the taxi charges from cayo coco to cayo guillermo were 5ccp per person each way. I have stayed at Tryp and Cayo Guillermo and prefer the beaches of Cayo Guillermo

Have a great time
