Booking online

Has anyone had any experience booking online with travel companies such as Belairtravel or Selloffvacations etc. If so, did everything go smoothly? Also what's the current exchange rate for CUCs.

I prefer belair as they have office near by which gives one a person to be mad at if all is not well.

Great rate today 1 CUC = 1.08 USD

Some people book on-line to save a few bucks, but don’t forget that a real travel agent may be able to match an on-line price. With a real travel agent, you have someone to call if things go wrong.

Don’t forget that a toll-free number will not work from Cuba, so make sure that you get a good number from your travel agent.

At today’s exchange rate, 1 CUC will cost you $1.14622 Canadian.

I've booked three times thru www.travellastminute.ca

Everything has gone very smoothly, no complaints.

Recently though, we've been booking thru a travel agent in our town. As stated above, we've always gotten the same price as showing online thru an agent, that you can actually sit in front of. Makes it feel a little more secure than sending your credit card number and booking online.

I booked with Selloffvacations.com several types (at least 5) and Itravel a couple and had absolutely no problems. Selloff does have local offices too.

Both are certified by tico just like any travel agent so you shouldn't worry.

I'm not sure what the current exchange rate is for CUC but be sure to take american dollars for the exchange, not canadian.

Kimi:

I'm sorry but you should definitely NOT take US dollars to Cuba. They are subject to a 10% surcharge and they are the worst currency to take. Coming from Canada you should take Canadian dollars.

I booked last night on-line through Sunwing.

I've booked my last 4 trips via the net and never had a problem.

Good luck and happy travels.
