Travelling with a baby to Sol Cayo Coco

Hi,

we are going to stay at the Sol cayo coco on the 1st of Feb 2012 with a 4 month old Baby.

Can anyone tell me if it is ok to use boiled bottled water to make formula milk up. Or is it best to boil the hotels filtered water??

Thanks

Boiling the hotels water should be fine.

Boiling bottled water could be worse - if it is mineral water, it may contain minerals to an excess for baby.

Bottled purified water is also fine.

Is this a good kid friendly (stroller friendly) resort?

The sol is an excellent resort for children. Stroller friendly and th resort is tiny so everything you want is with in distance. Theres also a baby and kid club area which is a nice area to play if the weather isn't nice or you want shade.

Very easy to get about at this resort, no steps and all under cover should it rain. There are several rooms on the ground floor that you can reach without steps, but be sure to ask ahead of arrival and make it clear ' no steps ' as they once put us in, what they called a ground floor room, but could only be accessed via a spiral staircase. Staff are great with children - with everyone. You also asked about Sol Cayo Guillermo, there are some steps there, one up to the main bar, 2 or 3 down to the entertainment and there is not so much room around the pool for a stroller to avoid all the sunbeds. SCG is very pretty but the bungalows are well spread out and you could be quite a walk from the main areas.

There is a little shop on site - not sure about nappies, they do have sun cream, but whatever you buy there will be quite expensive, better to take it, if you can.

If you were in a room furthest from the main pool/restaurant/reception area, I would guess that it is about 250 - 300 yards. From that main area to the beach about 150 - 200 yards. Plenty of room around to take the double buggy.
