few questions about Melia Cayo Coco

Have recently just booked this hotel for end of july and have a few questions:

1. Roughly how big is the safe? E.g big enough for ipads etc

2. What is the process for booking a la carte restaurants?

3. What is the situation like in terms of reserving sunbeds etc round the pool?

Many Thanks

Safe big enough for an ipad and free too.

Book a la cartes at the pool bar after 9.00am. and up till 4.00pm. They have the menus there for you to look at before you decide where you want to go - Italian and International highly recommended.

We mostly stayed on the beach when we were there and never reserved a bed or had any trouble getting one - there was lots! Not sure about the pool - it was busier than the beach, but still saw some beds available when we passed by on our way to the buffet for lunch. Don't think there's too many towel games here, unlike some other resorts.

It's a lovely hotel - hope you have a great time!

Cheers 💚

How far in advance can you book a la carte s? Is there a limit per week?

I think it's up to a week in advance, so you can book/try all three in your first week if you wish and then go to the pool bar again at the start of your second week and book for week two (assuming you're there for that long).

I don't think there's any restriction - you can certainly visit each one at least once a week. The International is a set taster menu which changed after our first week, but there are various choices on the a la carte menus at the Italian and Arena Real restaurant at the beach.

We gave the Arena Real a miss as it's open air - great for lunch time BBQ, but a little worried about being bitten by mozzies after dusk. The International and Italian aren't open at lunchtime, so make a nice change in the evening. To be honest, the buffet is so good and offers such variety, you need hardly eat the same thing twice all holiday unless you want to, so it was sometimes difficult to decide! We especially liked the home made soups, pasta, ribs, tilapia, king prawns, salad selection, and the roast pork, roast chicken, and various casseroles were always very tasty. Lots of cheese for afters (take your own crackers) and a lovely selection of fresh fruit, yummy desserts and ice cream every night. Definitely spoilt for choice!

Hope that helps!

Cheers ❤️
