Christmas in Culebra

My husband and I will be in Culebra over Christmas. Any help on these would be greatly appreciated:

1. Can you charter a sailboat? My husband loves sailboats (but we do not know how to sail) and I would like to surprise him with a sailboat day trip with some snorkeling. I found out that Vieques (where we are going after culebra) does not offer this.

2. Any recommendations for a nice meal on Christmas.

See my trip report for basic island info. re snorkeling and beaches.

Also, as far as I know there are no sailboat captians on Culebra, but there are lots of boats in the harbour so ask around at Mamacitas and the dinghy Dock. If you don't mind power boats check out Taz. Also, for Christmas check with Barbara Rosa, it's quaint but very good! Mamacita's is always good and Club Seaborne is the more posh locale, we didn't go there. We liked the other places to much!

On the Main Island Erin Go Braugh Charters, a sailboat, comes extremely highly recommended.

Have Fun!

We spent a week on Culebra followed by a week on Vieques in July and did a full day sail with Capt. Bill on Willow. It was fantastic and you will see parts of Vieques only seen by boat and the snorkeling is fantastic. You can do a google search for Capt. Bill Vieques and should come up with some links. He also provides lunch and will let you help as much as you want with the sailing. Give him a try!!
