Silverado Trail Recommendations

Planning our trip for 9/28 - 10/1 and want to hit wineries on the Silverado Trail (last visit was mostly in Sonoma although we did a few wineries on Route 29 in Napa - Mondavi etc.). I'm interested in hearing recommendations for places to visit on the Silverado Trail as I'm just starting to plan our itinerary. (We're staying at the Napa Valley Lodge).

Thank you in advance.

Here's a short article that picks a few Silverado Trail wineries to visit.

But, there are many, many others. Some of them make very expensive wines. What price range are you looking for and what varieties do you enjoy?

You might look at Rutherford Hill for having a picnic. They have an outstanding view and are owned by a Chicago family.

Your question is difficult to answer, there are simply too many! Having no idea what your preferences are, here are some of my favorites - many you probably haven't heard of but worth a visit: Judd's Hill, James Cole, Signorello, Chimney Rock, Regusci, Quixote, Silverado, Sinskey, Vine Cliff, Miner, Pina, ZD, Terraces, Wm. Harrison, Casa Nuestra, Dutch Henry, Zahtila.

Two I like is:

1) Sinksy they do a very nice wine tasting with food (they also offer a more expensive Farm to Table experience). Friendly staff; nice winery; mid way on Silverado Trail.

2) Mumm - This is great as your last stop for the day; gorgeous setting; we usually opt for the top of the line tasting as you get a very comfortable chair with a gorgeous view of the Napa Valley; sometimes we will order the cheese platter as a prelude to our later dinner. They also have a nice photo gallery to look.

And as mentioned above, there are many others that are great to go to. About the only one that has good photo opportunities, but I have yet to find anyone who absolutely raved about the visit is Darioush.
