Family break with young kids

We are planning to head from Europe to WA for a 3 week holiday in July/August and would like to combine a week visiting family in Perth with a week or so snorkling (Ningaloo?) and visiting some of the outback (gorges, lakes, etc.). Kids would be 7, 9 and 9. Any recommendations?

Kalbarri (about 8 hours north of Perth) has the gorges...some very nice walks in the area and June /July is a good time to visit.

Coral Bay, Exmouth - snorkeling with the whale sharks begins in March, usually runs through June. The whale sharks migrate north, so the later in the season, further north is better.

Shark Bay - my favorite of the lot - beautiful pristine beaches, plenty to keep one busy for a few days - I suggest Denham as a base instead of Monkey Mia.

Don't underestimate the distances and be well prepared, especially with young kids. WA is HUGE.

Some ideas here:

Coral Bay would be ideal for a family holiday. You may be best to rent a house. See list below for rentals. Coral Bay & all of WA is always very busy & at times difficult to get accommodation due to the mining industry.

You will need to book ASAP to avoid any disappointments.

Thinking of going to Coral Bay for Christmas this year. We will be camping in a tent. How is the weather around that time, seriously hot and windy? Or not as bad as I'm imagining... Also what are the caravan parks like and which one would be better for 2 adults and 3 kids under 8. And which location in the parks are the best to go for.

Looking forward to responses.
