Kerikeri market

Hi

Can anyone tell me if the kerikeri market is worth going? Is it larger than the paihia one? And is this a farmers market or a flea market?

Thanks!

The Kerikeri farmers market is an authentic produce & artisan foods venue, as opposed to a bring and buy flea-market - kerikeri.co/bay-of-islands-farmers-market-ke…

Kerikeri is the largest town in the Bay of Islands area, while its Sunday market attracts a strong following.

I went to the Kerikeri farmers market in May. it was well organised and friendly atmosphere.

As for shopping, check out the shops at Waipapa. A wee bit difficult to find yur way into the area, but some lovely shops to browse.

A little more useful info! The market is Sunday only (even in winter) and opens around 8am and is finished by 12noon, so don't sleep in! There's usually live entertainment, as well as the fresh produce - mostly local organic, as well as things to eat, and the local wineries are aften represented as well. There is a separate arts/craft area on the opposite side of the road, but there are probably better arts/crafts stuff to be had by exploring the Kerikeri Arts and Crafts trail - look for the leaflet in local shops and tourist centres.

Hi,

The Kerikeri Market is definitely worth a visit Sunday 8.30am till 12.00pm. It is bigger than the Paihia Market on a Thursday afternoon but it is run by the same people. So both possibly worth a visit.

Regards Sue
