Where to stay in Monterey area

Hi I am looking to stay two or three nights in the Monterey peninsula area. Ocean views are a must, and kid friendly. Thanks

Monterey Beach Resort! We have stayed several times, most recently this past May. With a higher budget, the Monterey Plaza Hotel is amazing. Enjoy your time in Monterey! :)

All of the above listed properties have ocean views and are kid friendly. In fact, they're about all we have that meets your criteria. Ocean view lodgings are actually few and far between. It keeps our shoreline uncluttered.

At the lower end of the price scale are the Lovers Point Inn and Borg's Oceanfront Motel (both clean and safe, but not fancy) in Pacific Grove. The setting is great, though, because there's a really nice oceanfront park (Lovers Point) right across the street. The aquarium is a mile walk via the shoreline recreation trail.

The Best Western Monterey Beach Resort listed above is the most remote. The beach is right outside the back door, but nothing else is within walking distance. However, downtown Monterey is only about five minutes away down Del Monte Avenue. Bear in mind that the inland side of the hotel is within spitting distance of the freeway so it's kinda noisy on that side.

The Clement, The Monterey Plaza, and Monterey Bay Inn are on Cannery Row. The Clement is next door to the aquarium, while the other two are at the opposite end of the Row, close to San Carlos Beach park and the Coast Guard Pier. The Clement and Plaza are large full-service luxury hotels with all the trimmings. The Monterey Bay Inn is much smaller and has fewer amenities.
