Monarch Butterflies

Are the Monarch Butterflies still in Pacific Grove, or have the already left? I would love to see them! I will be there next week.

They should still be here, although I haven't gone over to the butterfly sanctuary yet. They are generally here from late October until March, so you should be able to see them. The sunnier, warmer days are best for seeing them fly around; on the cooler, cloudier days, they will tend to clump in the trees, which is quite an amazing sight. There should be a docent at the sanctuary to answer questions, and he or she will likely have a telescope set up so that you can see the clumps of butterflies high in the trees more closely. Enjoy!
