What was stinging us in water?

Last weekend we got stung by particles in water (jelly fish type stings) but it wasn't jelly fish. Also we got chigger like bites which lasted over a week, I believe were different than the above mentioned stings. What were they & how to prevent

I think they are sea lice and they can drive you crazy if there are a lot of them in the water. They are here one day and gone the next. I have read the Navy Seals use Sea Safe, so that is what we use. You can order it online or buy it at a dive shop. We have had luck with this and it also comes with a spf 30, good luck.

What do sea lice look like? I'll be there Wed. & want to avoid them if I recognize them. Not enough time to get Sea Safe online now, have to hope to find it when I get there.

They are larval-stage jellyfish, very tiny.

They had it at a dive shop in Virginia Beach called Dive Quarters, you can find it in the phone book. We were at the beach Saturday, no sea lice or jelly fish. Good luck and have fun:)
