Restaurants in Virginia Beach

We are in Virginia Beach at the moment. Unfortunately rainy and windy.

Anyone have a good restaurant that has local food? Preferably some place the locals would visit rather than all of us tourists.

Much prefer the local choices to the tourist "Best".

Well, too late for the poster, but we had two great meals at a place well off the beaten track in the local residential area: Coastal Grill. I would not go for the atmosphere, because it has no view, it is not on the beach, the interior could reflect any generic American cuisine. The food however is first rate if you like seafood. Light, fresh, interesting, well presented. The service is polite and friendly but not obtrusive. Probably not the best place for small kids. Teens would be fine. Dress is dressy casual. (Shirt and shoes definitely necessary, we saw a few jackets). I would call this a top pick for us. Very nice evening.

We also liked Franco's in Norfolk for homestyle Italian, but that is a bit further.
