I will be staying in one of the historic houses at Colonial Williamsburg. Is there a place to purchase basics like milk and yogurt within WALKING DISTANCE?
There's a WaWa (convenience store) on Richmond Road that would be in walking distance of CW. It's popular with both tourists and students at William and Mary. Otherwise, there hasn't been a grocery close to CW in ages, although there was one near the train station when I was at W&M back in the dark ages.
Great minds think alike, BixDoc.
What is your walking distance? In addition to the WaWa at 315 Richmond Rd. already mentioned, there is a Food Lion grocery store at the Williamsburg Shopping Center at 1234 Richmond Rd. From College Corner/Boundary St, it is a 1 mile walk.
Wow....was not expecting such a quick and helpful reply. THANK YOU SO MUCH....that will work!
It's actually over a mile and a half, each way, from the middle of Francis Street where most of the historic houses are to the Food Lion. That's a round trip three mile walk to go for "basics." The Wawa is about half that distance and should have everything you need.
Again, THANK YOU very much for your helpful posts. Wawa is going to be perfect.
