Summer weather

we're starting to plan a trip back East to take in the history and know that we must come to Williamsburg. What temps can we expect in the summer? Is June better than August? What's the best month to come?

Hi Mommalee, I would say April, May or October!! I've never been there in the summer, and really don't plan to be. I've heard it can be very hot and very humid. You've probably got kids in school so maybe you can't go in spring or fall, tho. Just my thoughts. You will truelly have a historical experiance in the Colonial Williamsburg area, that's for sure. Check out Jamestowne Historic Island, Jamestown Settlement, Yorktown Battlefield and Yorktown Victory Center while you are doing your research. A truly remarkable and worthwhile trip this is. Have fun.

I would definitely say June-August can be miserable. Hot, humid, daily evening storms, plus hurricane season. The temps in June will be in the 80's, but nights will be mild. You will be doing a lot of walking, and going in and out of buildings, the cooler the better.

I would say if you are choosing between June and August, weather-wise, June is better. August is terribly hot & humid. June has the ability to be so as well, but usually not, whereas August is pretty much guaranteed to be.
