Picnic Pavilions at Water Country

Has anyone on a recent visit used the picnic area, and do they have to be reserved or is it a large enough area to accomodate alot of people.

Will be going in Aug, and would like to bring a lunch for five people and use the picnic area

Thanks

If you intend to bring a picnic lunch, a lot of people simply bring & set out some chairs or open their hatchbacks, etc and eat at their cars outside the park in the parking lot. Or there are picnic tables scattered along the edge of the wooded areas right outside the park. There is also a larger covered picnic area with many more tables down a little hill right outside the park as well. You do not have to reserve these. They are not usually crowded unless a really large group traveling together also decides to eat there all at the same time. But, with just 5 people, you will definitely find a picnic table to use.

Also, you are still permitted to bring snacks in the park, just not big coolers. So, for in-between-snacking a lot people just eat at their lounge chairs right off the Wave Pool.

If you have it in your budget & are able to conveniently eat your lunch from one of the eateries inside the park, you may consider renting one of the Cabanas. You would get exclusive use for your entire day for up to 8 people. Cabana rentals include 1 round table with 4 chairs, 2 lounge chairs & 2 beach chairs, 1 complimentary locker, & a package that includes beach towels, suntan lotion, and 2 complimentary beverages per person.

Have fun!

We used the picnic area at the end of June. We had no trouble getting a table. There are about 10 large tables. There are drink machines nearby as well.
