Williamsburg Lodge or Colonial Houses?

We are booked for four nights at the Williamsburg Lodge in early April. However I keep reading about the uniqueness of the Colonial Houses. Is there someone who has expereinced both and can offer their thoughts on the differences and which might be preferable? I understand almost everything is a personal preference but I was just wondering....

My husband and I haved stayed in several of the colonial homes. My favorites are the Lightfoot Tenement, first floor, and the David Morton House, first floor. Each is conveniently located near a shuttle stop. The Morton House is quite near Christiana Campbell's restaurant. If you would like a fire each has a fireplace. You simply call the number listed, and someone will be there in a short time to start the fire for you. I like to be able to step outside the homes and be in the center of CW.

We have stayed in both. They are worlds apart in terms of costs and amenities, but either might be fully satisfactory. We have found both to be fine. Call 1-800-447-8679, the Colonial Williamsburg reservations office. I have found them to be very helpful.
