Live Music....rock / pop / blues

So....we're in downtown Bellevue at the Hyatt, looking for some live music in close proximity. We went to the Piano Bash, which couldn't quite figure out if it was a dueling piano place or a sports bar....and as a result it was neither and lame.

Is there a place close by with good live music within a mile or two or do we have to go over to Victoria, BC to find some?

Are you in Bellevue now - or is this for a future trip?

If it's an upcoming trip...Bake's Place is moving to downtown Bellevue very soon. It will be a wonderful addition for downtown Bellevue. If not, Bake's Place continues to operate, on weekends, in Issaquah until late Feb or so.

Here is their website:

Daniel's Broiler, on the 21st floor of Bellevue Place, has gorgeous views, and a piano bar every night. Popular. Good happy hour. They have a video online.

Also, Blue Martini, a new specialty bar at the Bravern in Bellevue featuring entertainment, is opening this weekend.

Bellevue is a suburb and not known for its nightlife. Seattle, on the other hand, is well known for its live music scene. Look in the Seattle Weekly or The Stranger (both online) for listings. Why would you think you'd have to go to Victoria???

I'm assuming you're in town now and looking for things to do? Yes, Bellevue is mainly suburbs with a downtown business & shopping district. You'll find many more live music venues/options in downtown Seattle & in some of the outlying neighborhoods.

As suggested check the local weekly papers for their online music calendars (Seattle Weekly, The Stranger). Also look at the calendar functions on Ticketmaster.com, Brown Paper Tickets, Ticketweb, etc. for more ideas. If you see something that sounds interesting, then check them out on Youtube.

I'm a little confused by your thinking that you have to go to Victoria, Canada to find good live music.

Take the bus to Seattle. It runs all night long.

I agree -- why Victoria? Seattle will keep you busy, and it is nearby.
