We went over to Ilwaco today for the first Saturday Market of the season which runs through Sept. What a great time we had! When we first got there we found out that the fishing boats were offering free rides to anyone who wanted to go today to go out and bless the fleets for the upcoming fishing season. After a very scenic ride out, the fleet of boats made a circle and everyone on board was given carnations to throw out on the water.
After our boat ride we went to the Imperial Schooner for lunch where we enjoyed oysters, clam chowder, salmon burger and clam chowder. There were lots of cool booths there, I bought some handmade soaps for our moms for Mother's Day and I loved the Lavender infused fudge and cookies at one of the booths there.
Ilwaco is a very pretty little place with gorgeous views of the marina. It was a very nice way to spend a Saturday afternoon in the Pacific Northwest.Edited: 02 May 2010, 02:38
