Northern Lights in Spokane??

I know about the brewery named after them here (great beer, btw), but I'm curious if I'll be able to see any trace of them at all.

I'll be coming in this Saturday, and leaving the next Sunday and have never seen them before. Last time up there, I slept in my car for the night (because I'm cheap) over Long Lake near Tumtum and it was so quiet, desolate and amazing that I feel like that would be a good spot to possibly see them since we'd be away from the city lights. I realize that they won't be as spectacular as in Alaska, but a little glimpse would be nice.

Any insight?

Thanks in advance.

Zero to none, Colinaz. BTW, I appreciate your help as we prepare our trip to AZ.

Thanks. I saw pics of it from slightly up north (Elk), but in September, and hoped for a chance. Oh well.

Doesn't appear to be snow in Spokane or Pullman right now (based on what I can see on webcams), but it sounds like the Palouse still won't be very green. Oh well.

No problem on the tips though. Love talking about AZ. Let me know if you have any other questions for me.

Chance of seeing Northern Lights probably minimal based on local weather forecast for weekend(snow/rain), also no local mention of much northern light activity lately.

Snow is mostly gone in Spokane / Coeur d' Alene low elevation areas except for snow piles where plowed in streets and parking lots. Very unlikely much will be green in Palouse due to harder and longer winter.

I also haven't heard anything about the Northern Lights being visible this weekend. Sorry.

The only possible chance to see them, would be to take a drive up north to the remote country areas. I have lived in Spokane my entire life, and have never seen them.
