road tripping suggestions from Spokane

Hello,

I've been planning a trip to Spokane for this summer. My thoughts would be to fly to Spokane, drive to Couer d Alene (overnight) drive though I Idaho down to Walla Walla (overnight) and back to Spokane (overnight) Has anyone done this? I'm not sure how long I would spend in each city, but I hope to take in scenery, farmer's markets and of course a couple wineries. Any advise on how long these drives take? Any other information is much appreciated.

zhuzhu, the drive to Couer d'Alene from Spokane is about 30 minute, from Spokane to Walla Walla it's about 3 hours the best way to go to see the country side is 195 to Colfax then take a right to go to Walla Walla. Lots of wineries between Spokane and Couer d'Alene and Walla Walla. I'd be happy to give you more info on the wineries and what to see if you'd like.

I've always remembered the drive on the Washington side thru Pullman to be very scenic, more so than the CDA side. You could stop in Lewiston for the jet boat ride or thru Dayton where a lot of wineries are.

Consider seeing Palouse Falls on the way. http://www.stateparks.com/palouse_falls.html

There are a few options to consider, but I'd look at something like this route for starters. Google Maps route:
