New Years

Can anyone give me any ideas on where the best place for maybe 12 people to go is in terms of skiing around the New Years time (yes I know its late). We are looking at cabins or condo's. Any help would be appreciated

See the post titled: "Travel from Northern Virginia, which ski area".

Canaan area has several houses which would be large enough to accommodate a party of 12. Check out Timberline Realty for houses near Timberline or in Old Timberline (gated community) near Timberline. Can also check out MountainTop Realty and Canaan Valley Realty.

Goto http://www.canaanvalley.org/ for more info.

You have posted in the Flat Top forum. There is a nice little ski area there called Winterplace. However, Canaan Valley and Snowshoe are the more popular.

In Flat Top there is WinterPlace. A small but nice ski resort. A few rooms/condos on the property, but you might be better off staying in Beckley, about 15 minutes away. Lots of hotels, resturants there.

Snowshoe is much larger. Check out their website for lodging and more info.

Also check out www.vrbo.com for more lodging at Snowshoe.

Google Sladyfork Farms there are several vacation homes some rather large that rent there. Its two miles from the resort across the valley beutiful views and none of the homes are more than ten years old.
