Hotel recommendation in Eau Claire

We are looking for a hotel room in Eau Claire for a weekend stay in June. The hotel reviews are a little confusing. If you live in the area, which hotel would you recommend to visiting relatives? (relatives that you like!)

There is a Grandstay Suites that I would recommend. It is in the mall area (lots of restaurants, Target, etc...) also, you have a little more room to stretch out and even a small kitchen. Also, I think it isn't priced much higher than the other places!

I agree that the Grandstay is a great choice if the location (near the mall on the Southeast side of town) is suitable. A hotel within walking distance of the university and Water Street is the Holiday Inn (Campus Area). I've had success with Priceline bids on this property. I would not recommend the Ramada downtown.
