You could head to Door County. Another option would be to head up to Peshtigo and check out the Fire museum. If you like white water rafting, you might want to look into a trip on the Wolf River.

I'm sure others will have additional suggestions.

Pam

definitely Door County, there's so much to see and do. There's Whitefish Dunes (singing sand) and Cave Point Cty. Park, Peninsula State Park, Cana Island Lighthouse and much more along the way.

in Green Bay: National Railroad Museum, Heritage Hill, Bay Beach Wildlife Sanctuary (free), Bay Beach Amusement Park which is a small scale amusement park with fifty cent rides. They just added a rollercoaster this summer. Concessions are equally on the cheap side so it makes for a fun excursion in a fun location on the water. The NEW zoo is also a nice small scale zoo.

I agree with everything posted. Door County is awesome. Try to get in a tour of Lambeau if you can. Also the Packer Hall of Fame - even for those non-Packer fans it is fun. Enjoy!!

regarding rafting:

if the rivers are up (ie-if it's been raining), and you're interested in ww rafting, skip the wolf river and do the peshtigo river instead.... why? it's a better experience, plus it's closer. also, the outfitters on the peshtigo are FAR superior to anything on the wolf, with the exception of the bearpaw resort, which mainly caters to the kayak/canoe crowd anyway (like me)....

a little further north, with more reliable whitewater, is the menomenee river. wildmans and kosirs do both the pesh and menom.... the kosirs website shows both river levels.... don't bother if the pesh is much below +4-5.... but if it's running +8 or 10 or more, i STRONGLY recommend it.

happy paddlin and go cubs!

Yes, definitely consider going into Door County. It's such a short drive and has so much to offer between parks, shopping, food etc. You can easily see most of the peninsula in one day and check out the various small towns. I don't know if you golf, but there are some terrific golf courses around. If you head south, you'd find the Kohler Golf Courses, go to DC and you'd have Peninsula with beautiful views of the Bay.

If you've never been to Lambeau for a game, that in itself is a heckuva experience and the Hall of Fame is worth it. Also, pay for the tour of Lambeau while you're doing that--on a non-game day. Really fascinating.

Food wise grab burgers and shakes at Krolls but go to the East Side to feel like a local.....more charm and history there....and be sure to grab a pizza and root beer at titletown brewery downtown and snap some pics in front of the giant Packer statue......

Railroad museum is worth a stop. A little drive to bayshore park for some nice views of the bay and picture taking.

If u want to load up on gear skip the proshop and hit Kohls down at BayPark Sq.....unless u want an authentic jersey.

The pro shop is definitely pricey but it's fun to look around. There are some different things (like DVDs) that you won't find in other places but for clothing, you can hit most sporting goods or major chains. Bay Park Square is only about 10 minutes away from Lambeau.

Hey, for a good sandwich instead of a chain we stopped at the Honey Baked Store near Bay Park. Our GPS showed it along with Arby's etc and we both agreed the food was much better for a quick bite. That's only if you're caught and want fast non-fast food. Otherwise, follow the suggestions for local food. I'd review the place, but there's not listing on TA for it.
