We will be staying in Brookfield for a few days in April, and are looking for a good place to eat. We're not looking for pricey, but rather more like Diners,Drive-in's & Dives, with some real comfort foods. Any suggestions? Thanks

Brookfield is mainly filled with chain restaurants. You will likely find many familiar places, but not a lot of unique places. Kopps is a great local place, but it is basically a fast food burger and frozen custard place, not a sit down restaurant. The burgers are my favorite.

Senor Luna is a local Mexican restaurant actually in New Berlin, but close to Brookfield. You can check out the menu http://www.senorluna.com/menu.htm . Prices for dinner are reasonable and they serve large portions and it's kind of a dive.

Marty's pizza is very good and they also have reasonably priced pasta dishes in a casual atmosphere. http://martyspizza.net/

Just a bit outside the west side of Brookfield in Waukesha...IMO, they have the best Chocolate Custard!

Mama Mia's on Bluemound is a Southeastern Wisconsin Insitution!

If Guy FIeri came to Brookfield, he would try the following places:

Louisa's Trattoria on Bluemound near Brookfield Road.

Haute Taco and/or North Star American Bistro at Capitol and Brookfield Road in Sendik's Towne Center.

Pistol Pete's on Lisbon Road just east of Calhoun.

Vino Cappuccino on Brookfield Rd.

None of the above are chains and are all locally owned.
