Where to stay?

We are a group of late 20s staying in Milwaukee for 1 night, looking for a fun safe area with bars within walking distance. Any hotel suggestions please

Water St is full of bars.

The InterContinental is right on Water St.

The A Loft is another popular hotel near Water Street, although most any downtown hotel will do. Milwaukee's downtown is pretty compact. Just be aware a couple of hotels, the Days inn on 6th Street and the Ambassador on west Wisconsin advertise as downtown, but they are really not.

I agree with the InterContinental if you only have one night and want to go bar hopping. Water street is full of bars and 20-somethings and this will be an easy walk up the street. BTW I recommend AJ Bombers for burgers but there are also a lot of food options (Water Street Brewery, Bar Louie for examples). All are bars too. The Pfister and Hotel Metro are also not too far off, but I still think InterContinental is the way to go.
