I grew up in Door County and Sand Bay Beach was the beach to be at in the summer. Now they have a motel and cottages that are very nice. The beach is still the best part of this place as it is the best beach in the county by far. The motel is very nice with the rooms nice and big and the indoor pool area is very nice also just in case the weather is not too cooperative. we family has stayed their many times and are planning on staying their in september for my cousins wedding. You will love your stay there.

We stayed at Sand Bay Beach Resort early October 2008. There are some negatives. There are fire pits on the beach, but the resort charges for the firewood, which is wet and doesn't burn well. They do not have satellite tv channels. The water smells like sulphur. No ice machine--just bags of ice--allowed one bag per day; charge for additional bags. The rooms have coffee makers, but no coffee. The rooms are nice, however. They are located seven miles from the town of Sturgeon Bay.
