Lake Delton gone--major flooding--FYI

Lake Delton has been drained out pretty much due to major area flooding. Homes were lost a cty. rd (A) was taken out. If your travel plans include anything taking place on Lake Delton plan accordingly. It has rained so heavily here in WI the past few days....see any news in WI (online) for details.

Here's the initial impact --

Tommy Bartlett Ski Show is CLOSED indefinitely. That's the lake they performed on, and the water is 85 to 90 percent gone.

The Original Ducks also traveled on Lake Delton. Expect a route revision...

FYI -- Lake Delton is (was?) a man-made lake, so the high water had no familiar path to take to the Wisconsin River.

I read that most of the downtown Dells area hasn't been affected by this, is that true?

We're staying the White Rose this Thurs-Sun and I'm wondering if we should cancel now...

Heard the Ops Mgr. from Tommy Bartlet on the radio this AM. They will be reopening on Thursday as the Tommy Bartlett Sky & Stage show. They are trying to save the jobs for their workers..If you're in the Dells, stop by and show your support!

Sounds like it will still be worth going? We are heading to the H.O.G. rally, have not found any info that it has been cancelled or if it is still on. I know that any tourist $$ brought in would be a help right now. Locals-any suggestions?

Latest word is that the Ducks, Boats and Jet Boats on the Lower Dells will be back in operation as soon as the water gets manageable -- maybe later today.

The Tommy Bartlett show -- at least the stage and sky portions -- should be up and running Thursday barring any other complications. No skiing of course, since there's not enough water.

The waterparks have not been affected by this, neither has downtown or the strip. Basically affects resorts right on Lake Delton, Tommy Bartlett, Lake Delton Watersports, the Duck tours, and recreational boating and fishing on the lake. There are other lakes in the area which have not been affected other than maybe the need to watch their damns.

Yes, this will be a blow to the summer tourism industry, but I'm sure that everyone will do whatever can be done to get the lake back to what it was as soon as possible.

Please keep the people who have lost so much in your prayers.

it's good to hear updates on what's affected in this area, thanks for posting those. And also sad to realize the loss of homes, etc. that several families are enduring.
