Wisconsin Dells for Seniors

We are seniors going to the Dells. Could anyone tell us what the best things there are to do there? Are the Originial Ducks and the boat ride good? How about the Circus World Museum? We would also like to see a show. Are these things worth it?

The Original Ducks and the Boat Tour are fun for all ages, senior or not.

I'm sure you'll enjoy Circus World, but you should know there is a fair amount of walking / standing to cover the grounds.

As far as the shows go...

There is a new "Broadway" type theater opening this weekend, which might be fun for a show. Not open yet, so no review. It's across the road from the Wilderness.

There's also an "Old Chicago" style dinner theater that's new in downtown Wisconsin Dells. (Haven't been there yet either, but the signs are neat.)

The Fab 50s show at Chula Vista is performed by kids in their late teens / early 20s and it's high energy -- if you like 50s music this might be fun.

Also new this summer, the Dells Comedy Club, next to the Deer Park. They have a family show and an "adult" show. Both shows also include comedy hypnosis.

Lots of folks enjoy the Rick Wilcox Magic Show. I think it's pricey, but still a good show.

If you like circuses at all, the Circus World Museum is a must. I wouldn't say that the walking would be to much for a senior in average shape.

While you're in Baraboo, and you like to gamble, there's the Ho-Chunk Indian Casino.

Lots of miniature golf courses in the Dells. Especially like the downtown one, Old River and Totem mini golf. Walking around downtown and looking at the "stuff" in the stores is always amusing.

Depending when you are going, there is a show theater called the Crystal Grand that features well known musical acts. Their website is http://www.crystalgrand.com/

If you have not gone yet - definately go to the Broadway Theater. A great show, an average dinner, but well worth the price. Also go see Rick Wilcox. Both pricey attractions, but both take up an evening. - All Dells attractions are pricey, so be careful what you choose. These two will not dissapoint you. First class entertainment.

I'm assuming you'll have a rental car. Take a ride to Ishnala supper club. The setting so beautiful, the restaurant "hangs" over Mirror Lake. You can watch the sunset and enjoy a cocktail or dinner. There are trees growing through the building. All of the tables are tiered so there aren't any bad seats. The mile+ drive in is gorgeous and usually lots of white tail deer hanging along the roadside. We will eat there the week-end of the 25-27th as we do every year. .......Have a wonderful time in Wisconsin

I have to agree with yakyak, The Broadway Dinner Theatre is wonderful. The lead female singer is astounding and everyone in the show is wonderful. The dancing is amazing. The food is quite good and you'll want to see the show a second time.
