I'm in the process of making plans for our 20th anniversary trip for May 2015 and really want to go to Hanalei Bay Resort. We have been to Kauai once before 16 years ago and stayed at the Hyatt Regency in Poipu. During a day trip back then we took a trip to the North Shore and we were mesmerized by the astounding unspoiled beauty of that part of the island. So here is the fly in the ointment...my husband is a smoker (^%$#) and I am not giving up staying at this resort because he may have to walk to get to a designated smoking area. Can anyone tell me where the designated smoking area is at this resort and what building would be best to stay in to accommodate him? It's becoming more and more difficult to plan any trip to Hawaii because of his habit. He is respectful and never throws is nasty butts on the ground and always makes sure no people are near him when he smokes. This resort is on my bucket list and I am not giving my dream up because of his bad habit.. I'm hoping someone can give me some good advice regarding this issue. Thanks all!
