Lawai Beach Resort

There's 4 of us ladies, 55-60 years young, going to Kawai for our birthday celebrations. What building/condo should we ask for at the Lawai? We're getting a 2 bdrm and would really like 2 baths. A newer unit would be nice. Any suggestions? Any ideas on how to approach the staff with granting our request? Been looking forward to this for a year. Hope someone can shed a little light.

Hi Fourwomen,

My family has been owners at the Lawaii for over 10 years and we go every year. We bought in the Lika Lani building...It only has 4 two bedroom apartments, 2 ground floor and 2 second floor apartments. It's the furthest away from the beach house but as a result it is the most relaxing and the least noisy. We always request room 4003 (second floor) and it has gorgeous views of the sunset and ocean, as well as looking out onto open space where they claim to be planning a golf course. It has two bathrooms, a large livingroom/kitchen combo and another large master bedroom. There are three balconies, one large enough to have a table (although we always end up on the master bedroom balcony at sunset, sipping homemade mai tais and enjoying the gorgeous view).

If you can't get 4003, then try for 4004, next door...

If you can't get in this building or you prefer to be where the action is, request in the newest building, the Banyan Building...It has unobstructed ocean views and looks down onto the newest pool and patio complex. Be prepared for morning noise though as that is where all the meetings for activties, info. etc are.

Hope you have a great trip! The Lawaii is great, mellow and in a great location...But be sure to head down to the Grand Hyatt at the end of the road for a look at what luxury is...It's the most beautiful hotel I have ever seen...

Aloha!

The Alii Building is a little older than the Banyan building, but we like the views better and the master bedroom in 2 bedroom/2 bath units looks out at the ocean. NICE! It gets great breeze off the ocean and is generally quieter than Banyan. It also has a big lanai with access from the living room and master. The Banyan building is newer and looks it inside. It looks out on the hopping Banyan pool. The views are good from here, but not as good and it is not as quiet. Plus, the building is more curved in shape, so you can see into other units. The Coral Building generally does not have views and not as much breeze.

There are two things to think about when you stay at the Lawai Beach Resort:

1. You want the 3rd or 4th floor for the best views (Alii or Banyan buildings).

2. The Banyan building is nice but it always seems to be busy and there are always people (inc kids) in the pool so it can be a little noisy especially on the lower floors.

You might want to go to their web cam/live cam and check it out:

Have fun
