What time do you arrive? Do you want a big meal? We won't land until 5:45 next week and decided to probably do Subway. Something quick and fast, or eat at the airport while waiting for a our flight in Honolulu.

We usually only do Brennecke's Beach Broiler for lunch -- however, you could go have a sandwich there. (I do think their dinner menu is overpriced.) But at least, it is a nice open-air casual atmosphere right across the street from Poipu Beach Park.

Or you could grab some pizza at Pizzetta in Koloa town.

Aloha from Kaua'i!

Koa Ke'a Hotel/Resort has not opened yet - it was originally scheduled to open on August 29th - but the rumor is that it will be delayed somewhat - don't know how true that is, but I've seen nothing about job openings yet.

The Red Salt Restaurant will undoubtedly open at the same time the hotel does -- you can check their website periodically for updates:

Hope that it opens on time and that it is a nice property!

We always go to Keoki's Paradise our first night because it is very casual. We arrive in the late morning, have a Subway for lunch in Lihue, and drive down to Poipu to check in the hotel, and go swimming. Later, we have our reservations already made beforehand for 6 PM and get right in. Always tons of pepole waiting outside when we leave, trying to get in.

Keoki's is also our traditional first meal on the island. If we will be arriving around dinner time, we make an advanced reservations. This last trip, we ended up doing a late lunch/ early dinner in the bar. Very casual and good food.

Keokis is good for a quick, reasonably priced meal. Brennekes -- blech.

Might also consider Pomodoros in Kalaheo. It's not that far.

Another good choice IMO is Casa Di Amici though it gets some poor reviews re service from some. They've always been good to us.
