Allerton Garden Tours

I want to visit the gardens when we are in Kauai next week. My question is, how much time do they allow for taking pictures? Is it stop here for 5 minutes, take your pics and move on? My husband loves to take pics and while we don't want to delay a tour, we would like to be able to get the pics we want. We will also do the self-guided tour which sounds like an opportunity to spend as much time as we want taking pics and enjoying the gardens. Thanks

We've gone on the Allerton tour several times and never felt rushed. You can hang back a bit, walk around, and take as many pictures as you want. The only self-guided tour we've taken was http://www.ntbg.org/gardens/limahuli.php on the North shore which is very enjoyable!

The self guided tour (McBride) is very nice and you can go at your own pace but it does not go to the same areas as the Allerton tours.

If a lot of people are taking pictures the guide does linger at a spot like the Moreton Bay fig trees,

The guide will stop in several places to talk about the different "rooms" and such. He even offered to take pictures for those who wanted their picture taken by the Moreton Fig trees. As long as you're not sporting a tri-pod, you should have plenty of time to take lots of pictures.
