"The Hyatt is putting in a sushi bar..." That's what I thought I was referring to in my previous post. I had read somewhere that this was going to be something new at the Hyatt and when I read that they served sushi at Stevenson's Library, I assumed that was it. Sounds good!

Interesting on the Hyatt, probably a very good call on their part.

Are they going to call it Japengo like the Hyatt's in Maui and San Diego?

Genki Sushi is the revolving sushi place at Kukui Grove Shopping Center in Lihue. Nothing fabulous about it but we enjoy the novelty and casual-ness (I almost wrote "casualty" - that's something else entirely!) and it's an easy stop on our way to the airport. We ate at Hanalei Dolphin last fall and loved it; we had the Red Salt fancy-pants "poke plate" ttp://www.honolulumagazine.com/images/2009/Oct2009/dining/RedSalt2.jpg back in 2009 - it was delicious but insanely overpriced.

I think the best sushi we've had on Kauai was at Bouchon's in Hanalei in 2011 - but the service was so abominable we won't be back.

Personally, I like the containers of Ahi from Costco. We've never found a sushi place to rave about.

The plate lunch place in Koloa Town is grubbin' but no sushi there.
