The Blue Pool

Alright, the other posting about this got a bit out of hand. So what is the scoop with getting to see this marvel? Should i go during the week? I am a laid back guy but I still have my NYC gene flowing through me. Will this guy potentially cross any lines that would lead to a physical altercation? I WOULD LIKE TO AVOID AN ASSAULT AND BATTERY CHARGE WHILE ON VACATION. Should i treat him like a crazy dude in Alphabet City and just keep walking?

What ?? just keep walking??? Private property is not to be crossed. That would be trespassing, like in breaking the law.

There are other ways to get there besides crossing private property...

1) Beach landing like they did in Normandy.

2) Parachute in - the drawback to this is you will have no means of escape once there.

3) Teleportation - Just make sure you dont have a fly on you when you do this.

Aloha,

Well, let's take this line by line:

"So what is the scoop with getting to see this marvel?"

Answer: Follow Dirtman's excellent advice. Also, look into whether the Space Shuttle's new itinerary has been posted yet (Orlando to Hana).

" Should i go during the week?"

Answer: Depends on when the Shuttle launches are that week.

" I am a laid back guy but I still have my NYC gene flowing through me."

Answer: Leave your NYC gene and jeans behind where they belong.

" Will this guy potentially cross any lines that would lead to a physical altercation?"

Answer: See above. If you leave your "NYC gene" behind, you will never be there to start with.

" I WOULD LIKE TO AVOID AN ASSAULT AND BATTERY CHARGE WHILE ON VACATION."

Answer: Good plan. Our courts are backlogged and bail would be high since you are from out of town.

"Should i treat him like a crazy dude in Alphabet City and just keep walking?"

Answer: Only if you want to experience Maui County Correctional Facility's hospitality. The views su**, there aren't any mai-tais, the food is cra**y, the other "guests" won't be full of "Aloha", but you'll be a real man by then end of your stay.

chefmkon

there is a way for you to see 'Blue Pool', just post your address in NY & leave door unlocked so anyone can walk thru & view YOUR HOME 24/7. Once you do that, Maui residents MAY CONSIDER letting you go thru their property.

C'mon, what are you thinking?

dirtman is right on!! Hopefully, chefmkon, you will respect private property as most others do, regardless of where you are from.

We have 3000 digital photos of Maui on our computer and not one is of the Blue Pool. I'm fine with that.

Always enjoy these kind of posts, especially on a Friday when I have time to look. As if there isn't enough to see on Maui without walking through private property.

How about swimming in from another beach with public access. Sure the currents are strong but your NY genes will protect you.

All this stems from the the Blue book, yes? My Maui 3rd edition (2005) has it as A REAL GEM complete with directions....does the current edition still give the info?

Right in step with the problems on Kauai from the book:
