Sugar Cane Train??

Has anyone done this ride? It sounds like a fun way to see the sugar cane fields and learn about the history of the fields. Would love to hear some opinions on the ride. Thanks! :)

Sorry hun, unless you have a 3 yr old who LOVES trains this is a classic tourist trap...run, don't walk!

Don't think you'll see much sugar cane on it. Wouldn't classify it as a tourist trap, but you can spend your money more wisely elsewhere

Guess we'll skip that one, how about the submarine ride? Do you see lots of pretty coral on that? :)

Are you taking small kids? If so, I have heard that although adults don't enjoy it so much, kids who love trains get a kick out of it. I am taking my 4 yo on it because he loves trains. Can't be more boring than the Thomas ride that we go on yearly at a lical station.

The submarine does not get great reviews. I haven't done it but opted out after reading the reviews on it. I read it was dirty and you don't get to see much on it. The Ocean center is supposed to be better.

We did this train ride a few years ago, and we loved it. Yes, we have kids, they were 6 and 3 then. It is called a sugar cane train, but I think we counted more golf courses than sugar canes during the ride. So, great views from the train, it was actually a nice ride.

Yes, the Maui Ocean Center is amazing. Definitely worth a visit there.

Yes it is train ride. Hasn't been any cane fileds over there for 15 years or so. Mostly golf courses and back yards now but if you like trains then go for it.

Aloha!

Will never forget...took my kids and my niece one year, and we got stuck on the tracks! It took a good 90 minutes to get the thing going, and they would NOT let us get off. It was a s HOT as HADES that day, too! I was miserable for that 90 minutes! Fond memories of the Sugar Cane Train! :)

If you have little kids, the Sugar Cane Train is costly - but kids like it! And I think that they would enjoy it more than the sub. Not sure about age and height requirements for the sub, but I do know that we (yes, DH and I were sucked into the tourist trap on our first trip) the visibility was not good. Some kids might find it scary.

Maui Ocean Center - great for kids.
