Lahaina/Kaanapali Beach Area Nightlife

Hello Fellow Travelers!

I am going on a family vacation with my family. One night, my sister and I would like to have a night to ourselves (and give our parents some down time without us of course). We are looking for a cool spot to have drinks, maybe dance? Even a dive bar with some live music? Any suggestions?

Where are you staying?

I would just go into Lahaina ...

There are a few places with live music which can be fun but not many with dancing. Based on where you are staying we can give you a few recommendations that may be nearby so you can potentially walk home too.

We are staying at the Hyatt. Doesn't have to be within walking distance, we can always take a cab. I was looking into Moose McGillycuddys or Lulu's?

The reason why the night life isn't huge, is because most are tired by 8pm. You'll be waking up at 3am, surfing the net, and most activities happen early in the morning. Party in the afternoon after doing a morning activity.

Is Timba still open?

My person feeling is nightlife is out of place on Maui.

but Kihei has some spots that have clubs open late.

You could go to Little Beach Sunday for sunset and fire dancing. But that winds down by 8-9pm.

I figured this would be a more relaxed atmosphere at night and we would be doing more during the day (we have practically every day already planned out!). I heard mixed reviews about Timba- leaning towards more of a dive bar with live music. Not looking for anything too crazy. Just one night out with my sister

Lulu's or Moose's would fit the bill for you, I wouldn't recommend seeking out a local dive bar...they can be dicy for two females on there own! :-)

As usual Mamma is right.

Moose's does not always have live music but there are two dance floors. Lulu's is more likely to have live music, a little smaller though, but with pool tables in the back.
