Day trips from Sheraton Maui

We will have a hire car and are looking to do some driving around on two days between the hours of 10am and 2pm.

A friend recommended a trip to Honolua Bay. Where else can we go that is within 1 hour of the resort - that's a must see while in Maui?

Why only 1 hour? Why between 10 and 2? You can appreciate most of Maui with a 2 hour drive each way! Even the top of Haleakala is a 2 and 1/2 drive from the Sheraton. Just a bit confused by your limitations.

You can use the free Starwood shuttles into Lahaina and spend a day there

We're going upcountry to the Tedeschi winery, stop for lunch across the way, maybe hit the lavender fields or the botanical garden. Not sure how long it will take?

Go further than Honolua, all the way to the Nakalele Blowhole. It's about another 7 miles further than Honolua Bay. Please do not get too close to the blowhole. And turn around from there and head back the way you came. Beautiful views in both directions.

DT Fleming is another nice beach up that way.

Or drive to Kapalua Bay and walk the coastal trail. AMAZING views there!

Warmwinds, an Upcountry trip, meandering around, is a wonderful full day. It's something to enjoy! Maybe after, for a lot of folks, ticking off those "Must do" boxes!

Thanks Joan123 for your tips.

Why 10am until 2pm? We want to relax. Get up, go for a walk and swim at the beach at Sheraton Maui, sight see in the middle of the day, then back on resort in the afternoon for a nap and another swim at the beach.

Why a 1 hour radius? My husband drives a lot for work, the last thing he'll want to be doing is driving long distances on holidays. Plus it will take us 15 hours travel time to get to Maui from our house in Sydney. We won't want to be stuck in a car for long periods straight after that!

Napili Bay is a lovely spot if you want to lie on the beach and do some snorkelling and see some turtles. This is an easy drive from the Sheraton too. Would also recommend a sunset cruise. Enjoy your trip - Maui is just lovely!

If you like history , a few museums, lots of t shirt shops I would still recommend downtown Lahaina. See the United States largest Banyan tree, beautiful old Courthouse Building, an oceanfront library, a pretty small boat harbor.
