hotel bars

We are deciding on which hotel to stay at, leaning towards the royal lahaina, and am wondering if the bars at other resorts are open to people not staying there. We like the less crowded nature of being at the royal lahaina but would like to be able grab a cocktail in the evening. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

The other hotel bars will welcome you with open arms. So long as you can pay, they'll serve the drinks

At most resorts you can use complimentary valet parking if you are visiting to go to the restaurants or the lobby Barr. A $5 tip usually is enough. You might try the lobbies at the Grand Wailea, Four Seasons and the Kea Lani all great spots for a drink and great views

Since you are leaning toward staying in West Maui, Beardown80, just a FEW recommendations for you would include not only hotel bars, but also various restaurants that offer Aloha/Happy Hours, which can make for a very nice, light dinner when you order pu-pus with your drinks. :-) Sea House at the Napili Kai Resort has some of the very best views to be had on Maui IMHO. Merriman's Point Bar, immediately north of Napili Bay, Duke's at Honua Kai, the Cliff Dive Bar at the Sheraton would be a great choice for you as well. Don't forget that there are a couple of really great options with amazing views right at Whalers Village, we love Hula Grill's Barefoot Bar, and lots of folks love Leilani's which is right across the sidewalk from Hula Grill, both with the same drop-dead gorgeous views.

This is just a smattering of what came to my mind for you. I have no doubt that others will have some additional great ideas for you! Happy planning!

From the Royal Lahaina you can walk or take the free resort shuttle down to Whaler's Village and sample the bars at all of the resorts and restaurants along the beach. Here's a little map to help you get oriented... kaanapaliresort.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/…

Be sure to take in the sunset cliff dive at the Sheraton's oceanfront bar.

I liked the bar at the Royal Lahaina a few years back when we stayed there. Very laid back with the ocean just right there, with some good local musicians playing. Really very nice...

Be sure to check out the Hula Grill. On the beach. Music all day.

We go to the Royal Lahaina restaurant for their speicials. Also next door to the bar at Castaways and they have a wonderful wine selection with good prices.

All the hotels will welcome you at their bars. You can take the free shuttle from Royal Lahaina to all the Kaanapali Beach Resort hotels.
