help....

my dad has signed his usdollar cheques by mistake and he is going away soon do you think the hotel or banks will take them if he takes his passport with him... any advise would be great i have googled it with out any answers

I would have him check with the bank which issued them for guidance.

I don't think it will be a problem. My husband did that once, signed the top after I had already signed the bottom. Fortunately it was only on two before I stopped him. Most places didn't even watch to see us sign it. When I get home and cash them in, I always have them signed before going into the bank. The only problem I see would be if the checks are lost or stolen. Since his signature is already on both lines that could create a replacement problem. Call the bank or travel service where you purchased them. They can tell you what to do.

I should have mentioned it's probably been at least 5 years since we used travelers checks. We now stick to credit cards.

i think i will get him to take a chance and if there is a problem he can use his card to get money out
