Kayak Rental Question at Lanikai

I would like to rent a kayak and kayak around Lanikai Beach. Is there any kayak rentals at/around Lanikai Beach? Or all the rental shops are around Kailua Beach?

Thanks!

You might also want to check out two good kayaks. I've heard great things about them.

Just so you know, it's a very short paddle from Kailua Beach Park over to Lanikai.

Aloha,

The Mokulua Islands are right off the coast of Lanikai.

You will need reef walkers or some type of shoes.

Thanks Everyone! I guess I'll just paddle from Kailua Beach over Lanikai first to avoid the hassle of driving the kayak over and finding a parking...

If I have never paddle before, is it save to paddle to Mokulua Island? We know how to swim....

Yes, you will be fine.

This week Kailua debated cutting back on the number of kayak rentals in the area. It appears that residence want to limit rentals to one company and only 50 kayak rentals a day.

I'm sure others have the exact details on this situation. But, the Kailua locals feel that there are too many kayaks on their beach and around their ocean. This won't probably cause you any issues, but if the city passes these restrictions it will impact future kayakers (including myself).

It is a beautiful area to kayak. Enjoy!

I will be there in 10 days, I guess this will not be an issue for me... But thanks for the heads up... Maybe I should start thinking if I should reserve kayak before I head there....

We rented from www.kailuasailboards.com with our Go Card and had a good time.
