Marriott breakfast

Hi - we will be staying at disney aluani next week but have seen on the forums that the breakfast isn't the best - has anyone had the buffet at the marriot next door? We thought we could give that a go if its not to expensive. Thanks! :)

Do you have a car? Drive up the road 5mins and visit Denny's. Great service, good food, cheap prices.

The Marriott breakfast buffets are always good but often expensive (like $22 - $30/pp). The JW has a breakfast buffet and probably Longboard's at the Marriott vacation club on the other side of Aulani. Longboards is a great location because it's right on the beach, open air and we've watched the spinner dolphins on more than one occassion swim by. Within walking distance is the Country store which has breakfast items long with other takeout food. JW has a Starbucks and the MVC has a Marketplace that is pricey but offers breakfast items (sandwiches, eggs, etc).

All the hotels at Ko'Olina are on the expensive side for breakfast, but no more so than a JW Marriott in Chicago or a Grand Hyatt in San Diego. Hotel dining tends to be expensive in 4* & 5* hotels.

I think the buffet at Aulani is fine, but I usually eat at 'Ama 'Ama for breakfast if I am eating breakfast on site.

The buffet at Naupaka at the JW Marriott is okay, but no better or worse than Makahiki, but because of the character aspect of Makahiki it is $32 for the buffet vs $26 at the JW Ihilani.

I don't recall Longboards having a buffet, but there are certainly cheaper options, depending on what you want for breakfast.

This might help.

Buy some cereal and milk to have in your room. Otherwise there is a Country Market / ABC shop across the road as well as a coffee place that does have a little breakfast selection. All the resorts will be around the same price.

We have just left Aulani on Tuesday so Denny's is our regular. We did go to Ama Ama one morning however were unimpressed with the breakfast. We do however adore Ama Ama for dinner - that is spectacular.

There is the new quick serve eatery that serves pastries etc at Aulani - we didn't eat there at all however.

Are you in a villa or hotel room? We always have a villa as it is easier for our family of 5.

When we were there in December we ate breakfast every day at the new quick service restaurant they have, Ulu cafe. Lots of options in my opinion. Hot meals like bacon and eggs (breakfast platter specials), fruit, yogurts, pastries, cereal. Good portion sizes too.

We are in a villa so we can do a mix of both eating in & out. We are really looking forward to being there :)
