Arriving on Cruise Ship -- Activities/Tours?

Our cruise ship is not offering tour options for Pago Pago, so we're on our own....

Any place close to the cruise ship pier that's condusive for just hanging out laying in the sand (or better yet at lounge chair LOL) and 'playing' in the water?

Or, what is there to do within walking distance of the pier. I did see something on "Tisa's" that has activities; how far from the pier are they?

Thanks in advance :)

Hi we are on the Sea Princess too. We are going to catch a ride to Tisa's Beach Bar. There is good food ,good beach and snorkeling. Maybe we could share a ride to Tisa's if you are interested. If you like snorkeling and the beach maybe we can hook up to share cab rides to some of the other island beaches on our cruise.

That might work out pretty well. Are you currently active on the CC roll call for our cruise? :)

Tutuila is tiny so anyplace is easy to get to. Tisa's is an excellent choice. She has a tour or you can just take a bus or taxi and hang out there. It's about 30 minutes from the wharf. Or just take any bus anywhere. They all return to the wharf and let you out exactly where you got on.

Do buses accept American credit cards? Otherwise, is there somewhere at the wharf to get local currency?

Hi. What did you find of interest in Pago Pago? I am on a ship that stops there next Feb. Anything you can share would be helpful.

Sadie's by the Sea is walking distance - beautiful beach, snorkeling, amazing food at the beach side cafe. Go there for sure. But also venture further. It's unspoiled by tourism which is also a big feature and adds to its charm, but it means you have to work harder to find your way around. This island is all about discovery. Go up one of the two mountains, the easiest is the nearest and has great views, with an amazing abandoned cable car rusting in the trees. Ask locals, so friendly and helpful.
