October 19th - 26th, too late for shops, restaurants??

We have been wanting to come to Bar Harbor all summer but due to family illnesses weren't able to make plans til now. We could probably get a flight from Illinois Oct. 19th for a week. Would that be too late to find places open to eat and browse shops? I understand some small cruise ships still come there until late Oct. Any advise??

Thanks!

Karen

And some very large cruise ships come at that time of year also. Right through October 26th. Almost everything will still be open. Most importantly, Acadia National Park will be wide open for touring, hiking, and photography. The shops will be open. The restaurants, except those that rely on outside dinner seating, will be open.
