Acadia National Park

We are planning a trip this summer and need suggestions where to stay. Ideally, a cottage rental on water would be perfect. Any suggestions? Looking to be really close to an entrance to the park.

I'm not sure if you mean a rental home by-the-week when you say "cottage" or if you mean one of those little cottages rented on a property with a cluster of cottages.

Anywhere you stay in the Bar Harbor area will be no more than a 5 to 15 minute drive to the nearest entrance of Acadia National Park.

The park covers just over half of Mt Desert Island. Other than the Loop Road, which you will certainly want to do, you will find yourself driving in and out of the park as you explore the island. If you are looking for a place on the water, you'll find a larger selection away from Bar Harbor. The Chamber of Commerce lists qutie a few places:
