alamo square

hi!

Have been through the search part of the forum but could'nt find directions so could you please tell me the easiest way to get from fishermans wharf to alamo square? We have a car but would really like to use public transport where we can.

here's a couple options.

take the 30 or the 45 to market street, then transfer to the number 21 hayes bus. it will drop you off right at the square. OR take the 30 heading west on north point and transfer to the number 22 fillmore bus heading south at filmore. it will drop you off about a block east of the square.

if you take the 22 fillmore, get off at fulton street. if you are confused at all, sit near the front of the bus and when you think you're close ask the driver to let you know which stop for alamo square. they are usually nice about it. now and then you'll get Mr./Ms. McSurly, but in that case, there's usually a fellow passenger who will point out the right stop.
